My future.
So, what should I do when (if) I graduate this year? Do I go back to Barnstaple and hope for the best, or do I stay in Bristol and try and get a job here.
One thing I was thinking, as I discussed with Zoe (my fabulous manager), and some other folks, was the possibility that I work full-time at the Sandringham for a bit, while casually looking for a full-time job in something related to my degree. I could then support myself (ie. I would not need M & D financially, as I do now), I could stay in a city which I am yet to properly explore (thanks for pointing that out, Rusty!), and all the silly reasons, too.
I love working at the Sandy and I love the friends I have made there. I really only have three good friends at uni thus far. The Wife included.
I just don’t know what I will do after that? More uni? Computers? Politics? Journalism? Law? I am so confused!
Jess, what do you think I should do? (Other readers welcome to input advice!)

Hmmm, a difficult one. Well, the most difficult one of all, really, as I know myself. It is good that you have a stop-gap job to step in to if you would like to, if the full-time wage will pay your rent (remember non-student accommodation will be more expensive) and so forth. But you have your net stuff, too, so…
I would suggest getting a “practical” qualification, i must admit. I.e. the law qualification you talked about, teaching or an MA in something that will definitely lead to a job. Much as I loved my MA and having “York” on the CV helps, it is not leading to a job… I am thinking of re-training now.
As to Bristol or Barnstaple… Both are great places (well, from my short visits to Bristol, i really like it anyway) with differing pros and cons. Jobs are VERY thin on the ground (esp is our “field”) down here though.
Is there anything that really grabs you? If so, go for that, I’d say. If not, think practical but bearable.
Just listening to your Xmas present, the 10 year anniversary EMG - thanks again! Assume your not back for the w/e? Not doing anything special, Chicken is cooking for me - special in itself! Haha!
